康恒之声丨垃圾焚烧发电厂：从被容忍的工业设施，到美好共生的城市资产

Together, these projects and awards show that deindustrialised design is not a one-off experiment associated with a single flagship project; it is increasingly becoming a systematic approach embedded in SUS's project planning and development.

这些多样的项目和丰富的奖项共同表明，去工业化设计并非与单一旗舰项目相关的一次性实验;它正日益成为一种系统化的方法，深深植根于康恒的项目规划与开发之中。

FROM LANDFILL TO LANDMARK:

THE XINHUI PROJECT

从垃圾填埋场到城市地标：新会项目

For fifteen years, a corner of Jiangmen served as a landfill. Twenty thousand square meters of ground held some 150,000 cubic meters of aged waste, and the contamination had reached the groundwater beneath. Today the same site generates power for the city.

十五年来，江门的一个角落一直充当着垃圾填埋场。两万平方米的土地上堆积着约15万立方米的陈旧垃圾，污染已渗透到下方的地下水。如今，同一地点正为这座城市提供清洁电力。

Remediation ran in parallel with development rather than ahead of it: aged waste was screened and recovered for reuse, and roughly 60,000 cubic meters of contaminated groundwater was treated. On that reclaimed ground now stands a waste-to-energy plant with a capacity of 1,500 tonnes per day. The Xinhui plant is the only waste-to-energy plant in Xinhui District, serving more than 900,000 people across one subdistrict and ten towns. A liability has become infrastructure.

修复工作与开发同步进行，而非提前开展:陈年废物经过筛选和回收再利用，约6万立方米的受污染地下水得到了妥善处理。在这片经过治理的土地上，如今矗立着一座日处理能力达1500吨的垃圾焚烧发电厂。康恒新会垃圾焚烧发电厂是新会地区唯一的垃圾焚烧发电厂，为一个城区和十个乡镇的90多万人口提供服务。曾经的负担已转变为重要的城市基础设施。

The architecture, developed by UUA, takes its cue from Jiangmen's waterfront and sailing heritage. "Cloud-Sail Charging Through Waves" runs a continuous sequence of sails along a complex nearly 800 meters long, breaking down the visual mass of a large industrial structure and tying it back to the waterscape. The sail carries a second meaning too: where wind once drove boats across these waters, waste-to-energy technology now draws the energy locked in refuse and returns it to the city as power.

这座由UUA操刀设计的建筑，灵感来源于江门的滨水环境和航海传统。"云帆破浪"沿着一条近800米长的复杂结构排列着一系列连续的帆，打破了大型工业建筑的视觉体量，并将其与水域景观相连接。"云帆"还有另一层寓意:曾经风帆驱动船只穿越这片水域，为城市带来繁荣；如今废物转化为能源的技术则提取垃圾中蕴藏的能量，并以电力的形式回馈城市。

But a pretty design is not enough. A WtE plant has to rely first and foremost on top-notch technology. What design adds, it adds on top.

当然，漂亮的外观远远不够。一座垃圾焚烧发电厂必须首先拥有顶尖的技术。而设计，则是锦上添花。

Softening the presence of heavy industry is one part of it; open doors to the rest. At Liuzhou, public tours and waste-sorting programmes for children and residents have made the plant a place people visit rather than avoid. "Some may ask whether this investment should instead go directly into the plant itself. At SUS, we believe sustainability should go beyond solving immediate needs; it should also create a better future to aspire to. Function must always come first——technology, emissions, efficiency and safety are areas where we are confident in delivering the highest standards. But a better cityscape, stronger community connections, industrial synergies and broader long-term impacts are also part of the future worth investing in," said Liu Heng.

弱化重工业的视觉存在感，只是去工业化设计的一部分；进一步向公众敞开大门，同样重要。在柳州，面向儿童和居民的公开参观和垃圾分类科普活动，让这座工厂成为人们愿意前往而非回避的地方。"有人可能会问，这笔投资是否应该直接投入工厂本身。在康恒，我们相信可持续性不仅应满足当下的需求，还应创造更美好的未来愿景。功能必须始终放在首位——在技术、排放、效率和安全性方面，我们有信心提供最高标准。但更美好的城市景观、更紧密的社区联系、产业协同效应以及更广泛的长期影响，也是值得投资的未来的一部分。"

For SUS, beauty goes far beyond the facade. It is the beauty of the environment created through scientific solid waste management, the beauty of energy generated by transforming waste into energy and resources, and the beauty of architecture and ecology achieved by integrating buildings with local nature and culture.

对于康恒环境而言，美远不止于外表。它是通过科学的固体废物管理所创造的环境之美，是将废物转化为能源和资源所产生的能量之美，也是通过将建筑与当地的自然和文化相融合而实现的生态之美。

WHAT A PLANT LEAVES BEHIND

As a "Solid Waste Scientist", SUS pursues efficiency in treatment, energy and operation and asks what else a plant might offer the city that hosts it.

作为"固废科学家"，康恒不仅致力于提升废物处理、能源利用与运营效率，并思考一座工厂还能为所在城市提供什么其他可持续社会价值。

From waste to energy, from industrial facility to urban asset, from a plant hidden away to infrastructure that can be seen and understood. A sustainable future is not only engineered. It must also be thoughtfully designed.

从废弃物到能源，从工业设施到城市资产，从刻意隐蔽的工厂到可见可感的美好基础设施。可持续的未来不仅需要工程上的实现，还必须经过深思熟虑的设计。
